Music for Airports was produced by Brain Eno between 1979 and 1982. It consists of four tracks, titled simply 1/1, 2/1, 1/2, and 2/2.

This site attempts to simulate this album's second track, 2/1. It uses a series of looped QuickTime files to reproduce Eno's use of multiple tape loops in the original recording. Each file or track differs in duration, and each contains a single note or tone at varying points during this duration. Once they begin playing, the relationships between the tones and silences on these tracks enter into a process of constant transformation, producing an ever-changing, sonic ambience.

Ensure you have a sound card and a copy of Apple Quick Time 3 player on your computer, and enjoy!

This project was developed with reference to pages 136 and 137 of Eric Tamm's Brian Eno; his Music and the Vertical Color of Sound. This project was made as a tribute to Eno's work, not in an attempt to reproduce or supplant the actual recordings.
